Wireless Communication
In our Communications Signal Processing section we focus on the part of the wireless world in which Signal-processing algorithms (Physical layer and Data-link layer) and hardware/software design meet: we design and implement digital radio-frontend functionality. We do so in close co-operation with analog front-end designers and digital processing platform designers. The resulting systems are examples of so-called Embedded Systems.

In our group, we research the challenges in wireless communication and focus on providing proof-of-principle algorithm testing in real-world test-bed(s), currently for in-home environments (PAN and WLAN) and 3G cellular networks (UMTS).
Hardware platforms
To demonstrate and verify our ideas, we have built several hardware platforms. More information about these platforms can be found here.
